“Rejoice, heavenly powers! Sing choirs of angels! Exult, all creation around God’s throne! Jesus Christ, our King is risen! Sound the trumpet of salvation!
Rejoice, O earth, in shining splendor, radiant in the brightness of your King! Christ has conquered! Glory fills you! Darkness vanishes for ever!” (Excerpt from the Easter Vigil Exultet. You can read the rest here.)
Happy Easter!!!
One of my favorite things about Easter is the flowers! Today at Mass the scent of the white lilies, hydrangeas, and other blooms filled the entire church with that heady springtime aroma! When I smell that sweet fragrance it really feels like Easter! The awesome thing about this holiday is that it lasts for 50 days—until Pentecost. So that means you can eat more of these…

When I was little, getting all dressed up for Easter Mass was a big deal for me. I’d usually get a new dress (or my mom would make me one), and I would sometimes wear a matching hat and white gloves. I was a very “girly girl.” I guess I still am! Though I don’t get to wear all of that anymore. : (
Like most Americans, we also dye eggs every year on Holy Saturday. It’s a fun activity, even though I don’t like eggs. Usually we use eggs from our chickens, too, which is kind of cool.
As for treats… you know me, I like just about anything sweet. Count me in for vegan cheesecakes, candies, cakes…you name it! Hot cross buns are especially fun because it’s a tradition at my house to make them every year (well, most years). Gosh, I guess we have a lot of traditions! Most of them are food-related, too. Hmm…

*Yawn* I’m putting myself to sleep here. This exciting conversation is just too much. You see, I was trying really hard to stick to an Easter themed post, because it didn’t seem like it would fit with the spirit of things to post all my normal stuff…but I’m finding this to be very dull.
You know what I really want to do? I want to share a movie review of a film I saw yesterday. And gosh darn I’m going to do it! ; ) But in another post, because I started to do it in this one but it would’ve made it much too long. I’m sure the suspense is absolutely killing! (Actually, that’s a good hint for what the movie is going to be. Nope, not a Hitchcock…but close!)
Adieu! (another clue)
(yep, that’s a clue, too!)

Happy Easter to you too! Hope you had a good one. My favorite memories of Easter are from when I was a little girl and Easter meant white shoes and pastel dresses. And an Easter egg hunt, of course!! I watched some little neighbors searching their yard yesterday and got so nostalgic...I wish my mom still gave me Easter candy! Hope you have a great Monday love :)
